Mandy is co-founder of City Hive, a network for change and the only independent body whose sole focus is to change the culture of the investment management industry to ensure greater inclusion, diversity and equality. She leads City Hive initiatives to demonstrate the strong conviction that industry collaboration can catalyse action, including City Hive’s Academy programmes (Cross-Company Mentoring, City Stars and Masterclasses) to pursue excellence. She believes that investment teams with diversity of thought and experience, born from a mixture of backgrounds, make for better investment management - and deliver better value to clients. She has led teams and developed people and their careers for almost two decades.
She works with industry players, policy makers and regulators, academics, not for profits and industry associations, on research, advocacy and advisory projects. She has authored a roadmap to implement a Women in Finance Charter in Brazil and is developing a Kitemark on culture for the industry.
Mandy also liaises with global reporting and standard-setting bodies to raise standards of disclosure on non-financial factors and to integrate them more closely with financial considerations. Previously, as Director of Reporting, Assessment and Accountability at the PRI, Mandy led global work on accountability and transparency. Overseeing the Reporting Framework and Assessment of PRI signatories, this established norms in investor disclosure by requiring reporting on their use of environmental, social and governance factors in investment decision making.
Mandy is passionate about addressing the gender imbalance as a gateway to other inequalities and is a founding member of the Women’s Equality Party.
